Welcome to my site! Gerald Loves Henrietta is not just a peek inside the workings of my mind, but a refuge for my soul. What started out as a childhood hobby became a therapeutic outlet and, if I’m being honest, an escape from the chaos of chemo.
Born in Charleston, SC, my passion for the arts began early. At the age of three, I donned a tutu and took my first dance class. A few years later I discovered my talent for sketching, igniting a lifelong pursuit for perfect pigments and capturing moments of movement. I showcased my art through school projects, arts and crafts, and gifts for friends and family. Now I have the opportunity to share my gift and passion while sharing with you a small piece of my creative heart and soul.
The mediums I am working with at the moment are watercolor, oil, and yarn. In my artwork I strive for brightness, bold brushstrokes, and pops of color. With the lowcountry wildlife and beautiful marshes right outside my door I am never at a loss for inspiration. I reside on quiet sea island off of the coast of South Carolina as a post chemo girl in her cancer free world; with a lot of love and encouragement from family and friends I am thrilled to bring you into Gerald Loves Henrietta!
